Projektledelse: “Skab en kampdygtig hær med fælles magt!”

En udtalelse vi ikke umiddelbart forbinder med projektledelse – og måske alligevel?
Sætningen forklares og udbygges i bogen ”Projektledelse Magt og Mennesker” af forfatter John Ryding Olsson.

Bogen har undertitlen ”Machiavelli for projektledere” og tager udgangspunkt i
Niccolò Machiavellis bog ”Fyrsten”, om hvordan magt kan etableres og opretholdes. I bogen oversættes Machiavellis gode råd til relevant anerkendt projektledelse i dagens samfund og kultur.

 

Det er ikke magt, som den blev udøvet i Machiavellis tid med ”magt over” andre og med brutale
virkemidler som afstraffelse, hvorfor vi ofte med god grund har det lidt svært med begrebet
”magt”. Magt opfattes ofte negativt, selvom vi alle gerne vil have indflydelse, og ingen ønsker at
være magtesløse!

Bogen beskriver begrebet ”magt til” og dermed en etablering og udvikling af projektlederens
magtbase eller mandat til at være projektleder og udøve projektledelse – og dermed have ”magt
til” at påvirke andre. Vi ser ofte, at projektlederen får ledelsesretten til projektet og dermed også
ledelsespligten. Som projektleder skal du ”ville magten til” at påvirke andre!

”En kampdygtig hær” kan oversættes til en meget struktureret interessentanalyse som en vigtig
forudsætning til at sikre en fælles opfattelsesvision, formål og effekt for projektet – og dermed
reel aktiv opbakning til projektet både i ledergruppen (projektejer og nøgleinteressenter) og hos
projektdeltagere, som kan identificere sig med projektet og dets værdier. ”Den fælles magt”
handler om alle dem, som støtter projektet og ser frem til at opleve effekten og realisering af
visionen.

Bogen giver en god opsummering af væsentlige magtbaser og disciplinen magtudøvelse. Her kan
du som projektleder med fordel bruge lidt tid på at tænke strategisk og taktisk i forhold til dit eget
projekt, og hvordan du kan arbejde med opbakning og dit projektmandat. Hvor ofte har du som
projektleder ikke oplevet manglende opbakning?

Bogen gennemgår Machiavellis 10 gode råd til etablering af dit mandat som projektleder –
refleksioner over din ledelse.

Der inspireres til opbygning af ”den fælles hær” og ”den fælles magt”. Kapitlerne giver mange
praksisnære råd til projektlederens opgaver og dermed ledelse af projekter. Uden projektgruppen
er der intet projekt! Så den ”fælles magt” er altafgørende. Bogen giver også et bud på håndtering
af modstand og refleksioner om adfærdsdesign.

Sidste kapitel handler om kampen for bæredygtige projekter. Der er fokus på tiden efter projektet
– og anbefaler et meget længere perspektiv end ”bare” de aftalte leverancer. Her reflekteres ikke
bare over, hvad vi vil opnå – men også over hvad vi bør undgå! Hvad er de langsigtede effekter for
interessenter (bæredygtig projektledelse), som ikke var en del af målgruppen, for samfundet eller
naturen?

Bogen er skrevet til praktisk anvendelse. Alle kapitler afsluttes med en overskuelig opsummering
som ”bouillonterning”. Herudover kan skabeloner til mange af de praktiske råd hentes via QR
koder til værktøjer. Bogen giver refleksioner til både plandrevne ”Half Double” og agile
projektmetoder, samt refererer kort til TEAL organisationer. Den indeholder en litteraturliste med
100 henvisninger og refererer til anerkendte forskere og studier.
